It's daunting to learn the character positioning. I agree, Traditional Layout is not for everyone. We can always go back to basics and write the characters to form the word and you can be assured that they will work as expected. क्ष is combination of क् + षīesides once you figure out the use of zero-width-joiner and zero-width-non-joiner, you can create write correct Nepali forms. I can get complex combinations easily using traditional layout and it's also very close to what we used to learn in lower classes. In traditional the only thing I have to remember is the basics Nepali grammar rule and I can begin to form characters, words etc. While in Romanized I would rely on some workarounds for character combinations a vs e, aa vs ee and so on. This was great relief as I could type what I had wanted. In Traditional, I could just type them directly. I always found myself struggling time and again. In Romanized, I always struggle which to use kshetriya or kshatri? Can you figure it out without giving it a second thought? At least, I couldn't. Lets say we want to write क्षत्रिय and not छत्रिय. I gave it a try and found very hard figuring out the right key-combination to use in Romanized keyboard layout. Why I don't use Romanized Keyboard Layout? This meant I had to remember only few character positions while other characters remained in same position as preeti font. I preferred Traditional Layout as the Key-code used were very similar to that of Preeti font which I was already used to with.

Every time I tried to type in Nepali Unicode, I had two choices either I had to type it in Roman or use Traditional Unicode Keyboard Layout. So, I wanted to type unicode with similar font layout if not, with the same ease.
